Celebration of "Reasons to Ride" in Galesburg
Amtrak Train Days, June 27-28, 2015

BACKGROUND: Due to the past success of "National Train Day," Amtrak is expanding its community program from multiple events on a single day to more than 20 individual events over the course of spring, summer and fall. Renamed Amtrak Train Days, the celebrations will focus on why trains matter and reasons to ride.

WHAT: All Aboard Galesburg! Join us to celebrate Amtrak Train Days at the 38th annual Galesburg Railroad Days Festival recognizing the railroad industry as an integral part of Galesburg’s growth. Attendees can check out the Amtrak Exhibit Train, exploring Amtrak’s past, present and future. Amtrak will also be showcasing the Amtrak Experience, a dynamic display that allows attendees to see, hear, and feel the benefits of train travel through interactive elements and informative graphics. For the youngest rail fans, stop off at Chuggington Kids Depot, featuring toy trains and coloring tables. All Amtrak activities are free!

After visiting Amtrak’s area, explore the additional exciting Galesburg Railroad Days festivities featuring various historical tours, flea markets, food selections, and vendors. Whether guests are looking for a carnival atmosphere or educational experience, there’s something that’s bound to strike a chord for everyone!
