Annual Historic Preservation Award

The presentation of awards began in 1979 and has been an annual event ever since. After reviewing the nominations, the Galesburg Landmark Commission determines the type of recognition that is awarded based upon the historical correctness, quality or degree of difficulty of the project or efforts and overall aesthetic contribution. There are currently three types of awards: a Preservation Award for Voluntary Efforts in Restoration (P.A.V.E.R.), a specifically designed Certificate of Recognition and also a Letter of Recognition. Projects must be complete to be eligible for recognition.
