The mission of the Finance Department is to professionally administer and accurately report all financial transactions of the City of Galesburg in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Government Accounting and Auditing Standards, federal and state laws and regulations and City Ordinances and policies.
The Finance Department is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, general accounting operations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, utility billing, customer collections and service, fixed assets, purchasing, debt management, investment of the City's funds, management of the City's information systems and the administration of the internal control stucture.
