Danny Scott is being recognized by the City of Galesburg as the August residential award winner of the Community Improvement Blue Ribbon Award for work on his property at 968 North Broad Street. He was nominated by Tom Simkins on behalf of Galesburg on Track, A Heart and Soul Community.

"The nomination is for completely remodeling the exterior of the home as well as constructing a new garage," said Mr. Simkins. "The home, built in 1896, maintains its historic architecture and fits nicely into the neighborhood."

The Community Improvement Blue Ribbon Award is an initiative of the City of Galesburg with the purpose of recognizing Galesburg residents and businesses who have improved the exterior appearance of their property through new landscaping, painting, signage or general cleanup. Nominations are due the 25th of every month with winners displaying a sign during the following month.

The City congratulates this award winner and encourages residents of Galesburg to continue to submit nominations for residential, commercial or industrial improvements. Nomination forms are available on the City’s website, at City Hall in the Planning and Public Works Department, or by calling 309/345-3614 to request a form.
