City Clerk
The City Clerk is the official record keeper of the City. All official documents of the City are kept in the City Clerk's office. The City Seal is the responsibility of the City Clerk and is used on official documents.
The duties of the Clerk are found in the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) and also in the Galesburg Municipal Code, Chapter 2, Administration. The Clerk is the Freedom of Information Officer and the Ethics Officer.
The Clerk's office administers the fire and police pensions, maintains records for Linwood Cemetery and East Linwood Cemetery, and registers all contractors who do business in the City.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to serve the public.
