The proposed improvement consists of constructing embankment, retaining walls and an overpass bridge over the B.N.S.F. railroad tracks and will impact the historic resources within the Galesburg National Historic District. LEARN TO SWIM Swim instruction is organized to teach participants how to swim skillfully and safely. Swimming and water safety skills will be taught to swimmers of all ages and abilities in a positive aquatic environment. The program will begin developing positive attitudes, swimming skills and safe practices in, on and around the water.

The city of Galesburg Tree Commission will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 27, 2012 by planting two trees at 11:00 a.m. at Bateman Park located at Losey and Clark Streets in Galesburg.

Enjoy an open swim from 1:00-4:00 p.m. with an obstacle course challenge on the gigantic aquatic inflatable at 2:30 p.m. Sign up for the challenge when you arrive at the pool. This is a timed event with prizes. Fee: $2.00 per person
