The City of Galesburg Recreation Division and Discovery Depot are teaming up to add some sunshine to the District #205 Winter Break. Register at Discovery Depot for this two-day event. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 there will be games, crafts and contests at the Discover Depot from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.. Then change into a swimsuit on Thursday, January 3, 2013 for a splash of activities from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Lifeguard Training Review provides an opportunity to review the content to optimize successful complete. Participants must present proof of prior certification, and the expiration date must not be more than 1 year old.

Participants will flow across the dance floor with the Waltz and Rumba. The graceful Waltz is a dance which never goes out of style. Combine this with the slow Latin dance rhythm of the Rumba for the perfect mix. Are you interested in spending quality time with your significant other, want to get ready for an upcoming event, or just want to have fun? If so, this is the class for you. Pre-registration is required. Min: 15 couples

Youths may register for Beginner/Intermediate or Advanced lessons. Class and times TBA Fee is $35.00 per person. Lessons are held at Lakeside Recreation Facility in-door courts. (6 week session)

Ladies, take part in an exercise program with circuit weights that are designed just for ladies and youth. Participants can move along a series of circuit weight exercises to add in fitness and weight-loss goals. Circuit weights provide cardiovascular and body-building benefits with a complete workout. Get Pumped will help tone arms, narrow the waist and hips and gain the desired curves you want. There is also an elliptical machine, treadmill and bikes available for additional fitness.

Swim instruction is organized to teach participants how to swim skillfully and safely. Swimming and water safety skills will be taught to swimmers of all ages and abilities in a positive aquatic environment. The program will begin developing positive attitudes, swimming skills and safe practices in, on and around the water.
