On Thursday, February 22, forty-five mayors from throughout Illinois and representatives of the Illinois Municipal League gathered in Washington, D.C. to attend a “Mayors of Illinois White House Conference” and discuss issues of importance to municipalities.

Spring clean-up at Linwood and East Linwood Cemeteries will commence on March 12, 2018 and continue through March 16, 2018. Please pick up any decorations you wish to save before the clean-up dates.

The Galesburg Sanitary District has closed Academy Street just south of Fremont for sanitary sewer repair. They plan to have work complete by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018. Road will be accessible to local traffic only.

The City of Galesburg, in cooperation with the Galesburg Youth Commission, is currently accepting nominations for the Annual Adult Service to Youth Award to recognize Galesburg adult residents who give extra-effort in serving the youth of Galesburg, through volunteering their time and/or assistance.

BNSF will be closing the eastbound lane of the East Fremont Street railroad crossing today, January 31st at 10:00 a.m. for track maintenance. They anticipate the roadway to be reopened by noon. They plan to keep the westbound lane open during the repair.
