The Galesburg City Council, at the April 16, 2018 meeting, approved an agreement with Homefield Energy for municipal aggregation of electricity supply. Residents and small commercial businesses will soon be receiving a letter from the City of Galesburg C/O Homefield Energy detailing the terms of the supply arrangement.

On Tuesday 04/03/2018 Galesburg Police obtained an arrest warrant for the person of Jonathan I. Kelly D.O.B. 12/01/1989 for three (3) counts of Murder in relation to the incident that occurred on 4/1/2018 involving the shooting death of Jenni M. McGruder.

Beginning Monday, April 16, 2018, the Illinois Department of Transportation will close US Highway 34 from the Galesburg Main Street Interchange to the 164 turnoff in Monmouth for repairs. During this closure, IDOT will have the detour route posted utilizing IL Route 164. They anticipate work to be complete October 1, 2018.
