Lake Storey Recreation Area

Lake Storey is a 411 acre, community recreation facility. It also has a great appeal to non-Galesburg residents due to the limited number of such facilities in this region of the state.
The major feature of the park is the 130 acre lake which was formed by the construction of a concrete and earthen dam across a ravine at the west end of the park. Other features include a 2.65 mile hiking/biking trail, campground, boat ramps, picnic areas with shelters, several comfort stations, a beach and water slide, concession stand, a large multi-use pavilion, ballfields, several playgrounds and general open space.
