Rezoning application made for N. Seminary Street properties

Quad Cities development group RDC Hotel Solutions, LLC has made application to rezone nearly 26 acres of property west of the Seminary Square area. Several pieces of property along North Seminary Street, west of the Seminary Square entrance will soon have public notice signs indicating the proposed change in zoning to a mix of B2 - General Business District and R2 - Two Family District. The proposed development totals approximately 27.4 acres and plans to leave approximately 1.6 acres as R1A Single Family District.
 
The rezoning will allow for the potential construction of a hotel and for additional commercial and residential development in the area. Residential uses have been proposed along much of the western boundary of the property to provide a buffer adjacent to the existing residential neighborhood.

RDC Hotel Solutions is a unit of Raufeisen Development. Raufeisen Development partnerships collaborate in real estate development and ownership of office buildings, commercial buildings and hotel properties.
 
Mayor Garza further stated, "I am proud of our team 's efforts and further encouraged by the confidence this significant potential development demonstrates in our community and look forward to working with Mr. Todd Raufeisen and his team in rolling out numerous projects from it."
 
There will be a public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission on September 18, 2012 with the first of two readings coming before the City Council after action by the Commission.
