RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR BICKERDYKE BRIDGE

GALESBURG, IL - The City of Galesburg will celebrate the opening of the Bickerdyke Bridge with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.  The ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014.  The location of the event will be on Kellogg Street just north of Water Street.

A reception will follow in the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Room (120 N. Kellogg Street).

The Bickerdyke Bridge crosses over the BNSF railroad tracks from Kellogg Street on the south end to Seminary Street on the north end.  The bridge will be a vital access route for emergency vehicles and a primary entrance to downtown Galesburg.  This is the second of three grade separation structures proposed in Galesburg to enhance and improve the transportation system within the community.  All residents are invited to attend this event.
