The Hawthorne Recreation Centre Complex is located within the area formerly known as the Galesburg Mental Health Center, along Veterans Drive. The two main recreation facilities at Hawthorne include Hawthorne Municipal Pool and Hawthorne Centre Gymnasium, located in separate buildings connected by a hallway.
Hawthorne Municipal Pool houses a 45 foot x 100 foot traditional pool which contains 153,000 gallons of water. The pool depths range from 3 feet at the shallow end to 9 feet at the deep well. Hawthorne Municipal Pool offers amenities such as a diving board, waterslide, an Aquatrack water play feature and men’s / women’s locker rooms.
Hawthorne Municipal Pool is open to the general public and provides numerous aquatic programs for infants to senior citizens. Programs include, but are not limited to: Water Aerobics, Learn to Swim, Open and Lane Swim times, KCAP Swim Lessons, and Pool Rentals.

Season passes are offered four times throughout the year for Hawthorne Municipal Pool. (March-May, June-August, September-November and December-February) Optional one month passes are valid each month. A program fee must be paid for the aqua-fit classes.
*Residents must live within the City of Galesburg city limits.
*To verify residency, a current Driver’s License or utility bill must be presented at the time of purchase.
*Seasons passes are issued to immediate family members only, living in the same household.
*Any individual residing at the family address is welcome to purchase a season pass. Day care providers,
babysitters, foster children, grandparents or other extended "family" members may not be on the same family season pass.
*Other individuals may not utilize passes or the privilege of the pass will be terminated without refund.
Splash Parties
Hawthrone Municpal Pool Rentals
Reservations are being taken for Hawthorne Municipal Pool for a group or private pool party this fall and winter. Rental fee includes lifeguards and facility during allotted time reserved. The reserved rental time includes all time in the facility. (Changing of clothes, swimming and additional activities planned in the facility.) Swimming is not allowed during lightning storms. Contact Galesburg Recreation Division to determine pool availability and to acquire a confirmation form.
Fee: $75.00 per hour (50 swimmers or less)
$100.00 per hour (51 - 100 swimmers)
Hawthorne Centre Gymnasium
Hawthorne Centre Gymnasium is host to the boys and girls Junior Streaks Basketball home games and Junior Streaks Invitational tournaments. Hawthorne Centre Gym is also utilized for adult volleyball leagues, Junior Streaks practices, ballroom dance and gym rentals for the general public.
