Lakeside Recreation Facility
Prior to Lakeside's purchase by the City in 1990, Lakeside Recreation Facility was a private swimming and tennis club. Subsequent to its purchase, the city reorganized by developing major Capital Improvements to the facilities for use by the general public. While providing Galesburg's only public Water Park, Lakeside's main building provides valuable, indoor recreational space. This capability provides an added dimension to the services the City of Galesburg Recreation Division is able to provide, especially in the winter months.
Lakeside Recreation Facility offers area residents the following amenities:
- Four hard surface In-door tennis courts.
- Two Multi-Purpose courts which host -- Volleyball courts (2), Basketball courts (2), Portable Basketball Standards.
- In-door Batting Cage for Baseball and Softball.
- Men/Women restrooms/locker rooms.
- Individual and group tennis lessons.

Multi-Purpose Courts and In-Door Tennis Courts
Rate for In-Door Tennis Courts and Multi-Purpose Courts are $25.00 per hour, per court.
Indoor Batting Cage
Your team can reserve the in-door batting cage, regardless of whether your team plays softball or baseball. Reservations must be scheduled through the Galesburg Recreation Division to ensure availble times. Batting helmets are required except for Adult Slowpitch Softball.
Participants may ONLY use balls provided by the Recreation Division. Participants must pick up the balls when their time is up and return them to the Recreation Attendant on duty. An adult MUST accompany youth under 16 (No exceptions).
In-Door Batting Cage:
$25.00 per hour (Time is scheduled on the hour only.)
