Welcome to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Compete in a variety of wizarding challenges! Dress in your favorite wizarding attire or disguised as a muggle. Bring a swim suit and a towel for the water activities that are also themed around this Wizard Academy. Alternative activities are available for those who do not want to swim. Activities include wand making, potions, dueling, Quidditch and much more. Drop off begins at 7:30 a.m. at Hawthorne Gym, with activities starting at 8:30 a.m. Participants should bring a sack lunch. Registration must be completed online or at Lakeside Recreation Facility by Thursday, march 22, 2108.

Kick off Spring Break with a special Jr. High Dance for grades 6 - 8 at the Lake Storey Pavilion. This is open to all students grades 6 - 8. There will be a professional DJ with 789 Productions to make this extra fun for all in attendance. Have fun dancing and socializing with your friends.

30th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Coloring Contest

Hy-Vee and the City of Galesburg parks and Recreation Department host the largest community-wide Easter Egg Hunt in Knox County with over 12,000 eggs, 100 prizes and grand prize bikes for each age group. This year will be "Eggs-tra" special with Hy-Vee grilling hot dogs, hamburgers and pork chops available for purchase. Jerry's Mojo will also be one site with hot/cold beverages for purchase. Hope over the hunting grounds early to enjoy the grill and find your age groups. There will be special vists from the Easter Bunny and First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust mascot, Phillip the Pig. Bring in a basket for the eggs and a camera for pictures with the Easter Bunny and more. Join the many local businesses that have supported this Easter Eggstravaganza for you to enjoy at the Lakeside Recreation Center, outdoor hunting ground. The Register-Mail and Galesburg Parks and Recreation is also sponsoring the largest Easter Egg Coloring Contest. Look for the instert in the Register-Mail on Sunday, March 11, 2018 and in the local schools. Take your entries to either of the Hy-Vee stores or for a chance to win a season pass and chocolate Easter Bunny. This year os going to be egg-cellent!

Let the City of Galesburg Parks and Recreation Department "take you out of the ballgame" to watch one of the greatest MLB rivalries at Busch Stadium. Our seats are in Section 265 Left Field Loge, making this a great game to watch. This is also Father's Day, so sign up the family, deck out in your favorite team colors and let us do the driving! The per person fee includes deluxe motor coach transportation, professional driver, and admission to the game. Registration deadline is May 1, 2018 or until tickets sell out.
