Adopt-A-Park Program
October 12, 2020 01:37 PM
The City of Galesburg offers an Adopt-A-Park program to encourage community involvement and civic engagement while keeping city parks clean and well-maintained. The program is open to individuals, organizations, businesses, groups, and associations. When an organization adopts a park, the group members pick up liter, report vandalism, and make recommendations to improve the park. In return, the organization receives two free shelter rentals, and will be acknowledged with a sign in the park after completing 30 volunteer hours.
As of September 2020, the following parks have been adopted by generous organizations in the community:
ON Custer Park - Galesburg Christian School
Colton Park - Galesburg Railroad Museum
Full Viewpoint Park - The Friends of Viewpoint
Icehouse Park/Amtrak Depot - National Railroad Hall of Fame
Kiwanis Park - Kiwanis Club
Park Plaza - Lion's Club
Peck Park - Galesburg Historical Society
Rotary Park - Rotary Club
