Area Firefighters to attend WIFA Fall Fire School this weekend

The Western Illinois Firefighters Association in conjunction with the Illinois Fire Service and the Galesburg Fire Department will be holding its 17th Annual Fall Fire School on Saturday, August 25. The school will be held at the Regional Fire Training Facility in the Hawthorne Center in Galesburg. WIFA expects about 150-175 area career and volunteer firefighters to take part in this important training. Training includes classroom and hand-on education in the essentials of firefighting, structural tactics, agricultural rescue, leadership principles for fire officers, fires on the farm, evidence collection for clandestine drug labs and weapons of mass destruction, emergency medical service, and risk management in the fire service.
The school is supported locally by Alexis Fire Equipment, KCCDD, Bridgeway, WalMart, Walgreens, Hi-Lo, HyVee Food Stores, and the Galesburg Firefighters Association Local #555.
