Arrest made in residential burglary 11/12/2014

Galesburg Illinois- On Wednesday, November 12, 2014 arrest warrants for residential burglary were issued for Marcus E. Bland, age 37 (DOB: 01/23/1977) of 740 E. Knox Street Galesburg, Illinois in connection with a series of burglaries committed in Galesburg in which copper was removed from unoccupied residences.


An investigation by the Galesburg Police Department developed Bland as a suspect, and found that he had been making multiple trips between Galesburg and Peoria, Illinois where similar burglaries of copper had been reported.


On Wednesday, November 05, 2014 a joint investigation between the Galesburg and Peoria Police Departments resulted in Bland being arrested in Peoria by the Peoria Police Department while in the act of committing a burglary in which he was removing copper from an unoccupied residence.


At this time Bland remains in custody inthe Peoria County jail. A total of five Knox County arrests warrants for residential burglaries committed in Galesburg were issued at this time for Bland with bond being set at $150,000.
