The winter storm on December 28th left many downed limbs in the City of Galesburg. Beginning Monday, January 4th, City crews will pick up tree limbs from the storm at the curb. Tree limbs must be 10 feet in length or less and stacked at the curb before January 4th to ensure pick up. Residents may stack large limbs at the curb, away from any power poles, cable boxes or fire hydrants for pick up by City crews. The curbside pick up services is for tree and limb storm debris disposal only.
In addition, only tree and limb storm debris from that property should be left at the curb. Tree cutting contractors hired to cut up storm debris will be responsible for total removal of debris and debris will not be picked up if placed at the curb.
