October 3, 2018 03:15 PM
Two homes on Fulton Street are being recognized this month as the recipients of the City of Galesburg Community Improvement Blue Ribbon Award. Both properties were nominated by John and Ranee Collura.
Susan Ray, 246 Fulton Street, was nominated for and received the Blue Ribbon Award for the pride and care she takes of her home, including continually improving the outside of her home.
Kelly Sloan and Tyson Pedigo, 214 Fulton Street, were also nominated and received the Blue Ribbon Award. The nomination form praised the residents for reinvigorating the property with new siding, roof, porch, landscaping, privacy fence, sidewalk, and a painted foundation.
The Community Improvement Blue Ribbon Award is an initiative of the City of Galesburg with the purpose of recognizing Galesburg residents and businesses who have improved the exterior appearance of their property through new landscaping, painting, signage or general cleanup. Nominations are due the 25th of every month with winners displaying a sign during the following month.
The City congratulates these award winners and encourages residents of Galesburg to continue to submit nominations for residential, commercial or industrial improvements. Nomination forms are available on the City’s website, at City Hall in the Planning and Public Works Department, or by calling 309/345-3614 to request a form.
