Connie Nott Canine Area to be Maintained by City

January 26, 2018 09:51 AM
In June 2014, the Connie Nott Canine Area was opened within Inbinder Park, as an enclosed, off-leash dog park. The park was created by Project Dog Park – a group of engaged community members who took the initiative to raise funds for the purpose of opening a dog park in Galesburg. Since the opening of the dog park, members of Project Dog Park have volunteered their time to maintain the landscaping and enhance the park.
After raising the money to build the dog park and maintaining it for the past three years, Project Dog Park decided to turn the leash over to the City of Galesburg for day to day operations of Connie Nott Canine Area. The park will continue to remain open to the public as an enclosed, off-leash dog park. The City would like to thank all of the members of Project Dog Park for the wonderful work they have done to establish, enhance, and maintain the park. For questions regarding the Connie Nott Canine Area, please contact the City of Galesburg Parks and Recreation Department at 309/345-3683.
