On Saturday 09/06/2014 at 9:34 a.m. Galesburg Police were called to an armed robbery in progress at F&M Bank, 21 East Main Street. Officers arrived and learned that a male suspect had entered the bank and presented a note to a teller demanding money.  The note implied the man was armed though no weapon was displayed.  The bank employee complied with the demand and the suspect quickly left the bank.  Galesburg Police Officers searched the area and reviewed bank security video.  Investigators soon focused their investigation on a local resident, Tyson Stevens, as a patrol officer believed he recognized the suspect as Stevens.  Stevens was eventually located and arrested charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1-15 grams, and Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver. Stevens was taken to the Knox County Jail where he remains at this time awaiting an initial court appearance.
