Galesburg City Hall to Reopen for Public Access on June 1

May 21, 2020 04:53 PM
Galesburg City Hall will re-open to the public on June 1, 2020. The Galesburg Public Safety building, which had enacted restricted lobby hours, will also resume 24-hour public access.
Upon re-opening to the public, City of Galesburg facilities will utilize increased protective measures to safeguard the welfare of citizens and employees, which include additional cleaning and sanitation of all touchpoints, use of social distancing stickers, and requiring all customer service staff and citizens entering City facilities to wear a face-covering. As some citizens may prefer to continue to limit exposure to public spaces, options that were put in place to access services and make payments online and over the phone will continue to be available.
Beginning May 29, City-owned Parks and Recreation facilities will open in accordance with allowable timelines and capacities, depending on the specific service and environment. Facilities that will open are Connie Nott Canine Area (dog park); basketball courts; tennis courts; park bathrooms; and the Allison Campground.
Bunker Links Golf Course is currently open with restrictions. These restrictions will change on May 29 to allow foursomes and carts. Disc golf, the skate park, and open spaces at City parks continue to be open and available for citizens to utilize. As additional Parks and Recreation amenities are able to be opened, information will be posted on the City’s website and social media.
A comprehensive summary of changes to City services, events, and policies as a result of COVID-19 is available on the City’s website, as well as links to more information and resources for citizens and businesses.
