They have the contacts and knowledge that can assist our companies reach markets in the People’s Republic of China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines and other key markets quickly and efficiently. They understand the practices of the east and west and can be great business partners."

Being able to compete globally is one of the engines that will help move our local economy in a positive direction. We are going to continue to be very active on this front."

The "Doing Business in Taiwan" forum will discuss the Taiwan market, and open a dialogue between Taiwanese and Galesburg/West Central Illinois businesses. Camarano added, "They really want to listen to our businesses and uncover areas of collaboration and possible joint ventures and investments. They are very open to all possibilities and bring a lot to the table.  I am excited about this opportunity for the region." Of particular interest to the Taiwanese are agricultural products, advanced agriculture products and services, processed food, and mobile machinery and implements. There are also opportunities for joint ventures and investment.
