The City of Galesburg Transit operates four fixed bus routes within Galesburg City limits:
Gold route operates 30-minute looped routes leaving the Downtown Transfer point (Main St. and Prairie Street) at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The first bus leaves at 7:15 a.m. and the last buses leave at 5:15 p.m.
Blue, Green, and Red routes operate 1-hour looped routes leaving the Downtown Transfer point (Main St. and Prairie Street) on the hour. The first buses leave at 7:00 a.m. and the last buses leave at 5:00 p.m.

Effective February 1, 2026, bus drivers will only pick up and drop off at designated bus stops, bus benches, or bus shelters. Download the PassioGo app on your smartphone or visit PassioGo to see the bus routes, bus stops, and get the most up to date information on the status of a route.

DISABILITY RIDE FREE BUS PASS
Those wishing to utilize the Disabilities Ride Free Bus Pass must be registered with the Illinois Department of Aging Benefit Access Program. Once approved the individual would have to bring the certificate and photo ID to the Galesburg Transit Maintenance Facility, 1025 Monmouth Blvd. Anyone needing more information or assistance with enrolling may contact VNA, 2262 Grand Ave, or Galesburg Transit Maintenance Facility, 1025 Monmouth Blvd.
All punch tickets are available for purchase from the drivers or the Galesburg Transit Maintenance Facility.
- Regular riders — 10 punches for $5
- Student Rider (with ID) — 16 punches for $5
- Disabled Rider — 16 punches for $5
Get your Monthly Citipass for just $20! Passes are valid for one month from the issue date and are easily renewable. You can buy or renew your pass directly with your driver, at Galesburg Public Transportation, or over the phone using a credit card.

- Passengers in Dial-A-Ride service areas must call the Galesburg Transit Office, (309)345-3686, on the hour (:00) to schedule a pick up.
- Prairie and Main — Route #1 (Blue); Route #2 (Green), Route #3 (Red), and Route #4 (Gold)
- The first alternate location for this transfer point will be at the intersection of West Ferris Street and North Broad Street when the primary transfer point is affected by construction or community event.
- The secondary alternate location at West Simmons Street and South West Street will be utilized when the primary transfer point and the first alternate location are affected by construction or community events.

- When calling for information, know the nearest bus stop location where you would be getting on.
- Be at the bus stop 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to be there.
- Wait for the bus at the designated bus stop, bus bench, or bus shelter. Effective February 1, 2026, drivers will only stop or drop off at these locations. Download the Passio Go app on your phone to see the routes and bus stops or visit www.passiogo.com.
- When at the approved bus stop, bus bench, or bus shelter, please flag the bus as it approaches to let the driver know you want the bus.
- Have your cash fare or pass ready before boarding the bus. Note: Drivers are not required to make change for bills larger than $5.00
- Give the driver advance notice when you want to get off by pulling the "stop request" cord at least one-half block prior to your stop
- Please use only one seat when the bus is full. Keep the aisles free for safety and do not block the exit doors.
- As this is a fixed route system on a timed schedule, it should take patrons no longer than three minutes to load/unload from the fixed route bus. While we can accommodate those with wheelchairs/walkers; if patrons are unable to load/unload in the tree minute timeframe, they should contact Galesburg Public Transportation offices about the potential for registering with our paratransit services (even if for a short-term situation) for scheduled rides. The fixed route system is not designed for those needing extended loading/unloading times.
