Adult Aquatic Programs

Dates: October 1-31, 2026
Cost: $42 per month; $120 - 3 month membership; $7 daily drop-in fee

Location: Hawthorne Pool 

Fitness members get full access to all lane swim times and Aquatic Fitness classes.  No refund or credits will be issued for weather related closures.

Youth Aquatic Programs

Private lessons are a good option for participants who have specific goals that are outside of the standard learn to swim program, participants who struggle within classes to progress, participants who have special learning needs, participants who have specific scheduling needs, or participants who want more one on one attention.

Lifeguard Classes and Recertifications

Dates: October 13-16, 2026
Times: 9AM-4:30PM, October 13, 14 and 15. 9am-12PM, October 16
Cost: $250 per participant by October 9
Ages: 15+ years
Location: Hawthorne Pool

Participant must be able to pass a prerequisite skills evaluation by doing the following:

  • Swim 150 yards continuously demonstrating breath control & rhythmic breathing. You may swim using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Your hands will be under your armpits and finish with another 50 yard swim. 
  • Complete a timed retrieval of a brick within 1 min and 40 seconds. No goggles.
    • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Face may be in or out of the water.
    • Surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10lb brick.
Participants are responsible for completing the online coursework prior to the weekend of training.
