The city of Galesburg has a mapping application displaying construction projects planned and in progress around the City. Click on the various highlighted sections of roadway to get detailed information about the project including estimated dates the project will be completed, the contact person for the project, and the funding sources being used for the project.
NOTE: The State of Illinois has jurisdiction of Grand Avenue and the portion of Main Street from the Sibley Underpass to Grand Avenue. The State is tentatively planning on reconstructing East Main Street (Sibley Underpass to Grand Avenue) and Grand Avenue (East Main Street to the south City Limits at Knox Highway 32) beginning sometime in 2027. They plan to replace all of the existing curb and gutter and roadway pavement as part of this project and install new sidewalks along the route.
