September 5, 2012 04:59 PM
Is government contracting for you? Each year, local, state and federal governments purchase more than $500 billion from small businesses. The Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Center of Central Illinois was established to help small businesses understand and profit from government contracting.
The EBI Network, Carl Sandburg College, and PTAC of Central Illinois, are offering a hands-on, four-session course in attracting government business. The focus of the workshop is to give an understanding of: federal and state contracting basics; bids and proposals; special program; and who's there to help you. This four-part series covers government contract basics, CCR registration, ORCA and tips and tools for government sales. This program is a unit of the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs at Western Illinois University. Sponsorship is also provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the University of Illinois Extension, the City of Galesburg, the EBI Network, Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce.
Class will meet from 2-5 p.m. Thursdays for four weeks, beginning Sept. 13.
Cost: $99, BUS E26 530
