The Galesburg Fire and Police Commission welcomed its newest member yesterday as Naomi Law was given the oath of office in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Commission conducts examinations for original appointments, promotions, and hearings on charges brought against a member of the Police or Fire departments.
"Naomi Law is an exceptional and committed community volunteer as are her fellow Fire & Police Commissioners David Guenther and Jon Sibley," said Sal Garza, Mayor.  These community leaders are entrusted with the important responsibilities of getting the very best individuals in place to help the fire and police departments provide crucial public safety and security services to the residents of Galesburg," remarked Garza.
Law, a Galesburg native, is a retired school administrator, teacher, coordinator, and speech therapist from the Joliet and Oak Park Public School system and a retired instructor from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois.
