The program is designed to provide lead-safe housing at no cost to homeowners or occupants. Applications are still being accepted from citizens who would like to participate in the program. Winter Parking Guidelines
Citizens are reminded that an automatic parking prohibition will take effect on all city streets if snow accumulation reaches two inches. Cars parked on city streets at that time will be subject to ticketing and towing. The parking prohibition will remain in effect on all city streets until the street has been completely plowed. (The Central Business District is not included in this parking prohibition except for the NW corner of the public square).

2018 Assessment Notices and Board of Review Complaint Rules and Procedures
The 2018 assessment notices were mailed and changes published in The Register-Mail on Friday, December 28, 2018. The deadline for a taxpayer to file a complaint to the Knox County Board of Review is Tuesday, January 29, 2019. The completed complaint form must be filed in one of the Assessor's offices no later than 4 P.M. If a taxpayer would like to file an appeal, he/she can get the appeal form and complaint procedures from the document section of the website or the Assessor's office.
