The city of Galesburg will conduct an open house public meeting regarding the proposed N. Soangetaha Road overpass bridge over the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe (B.N.S.F.) railroad tracks. The open house will take place on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Soangetaha Country Club, 238 N. Soangetaha Road, Galesburg, IL. All interested persons are invited to attend.
The proposed improvement consists of constructing embankment and a three span overpass bridge over the B.N.S.F. railroad tracks on N. Soangetaha Road.  This project will include realignment of the proposed bridge directly west of the existing bridge in order to maintain traffic during construction. Right-of-way acquisition information will be available at the meeting.  City personnel will be available to address questions and comments citizens may have about the project and about land acquisition policies and procedures.  Related exhibits, maps and plans will also be available for public review and comment.   No formal presentation will be given.
This meeting will be accessible to persons with a disability in compliance with current accessibility standards prepared by the capital development board.  Persons with a disability planning to attend and needing special accommodations should contact Wayne Carl, City Engineer by June 5, 2012 at the following: 309/345-3625 phone; 309/345-5704 fax; or 55 W.
