Parks and Recreation Director Announced

The City of Galesburg is pleased to announce that Anthony "Tony" Oligney-Estill has been hired to serve as the Director of Parks and Recreation, effective December 7, 2015. Mr. Oligney-Estill previously served as Sports Manager for the Champaign Park District, and will replace retiring Director Larry Cox.
A native of northwest Indiana, Mr. Oligney-Estill graduated from North Central College in Naperville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and holds a Master’s Degree in Leisure Studies from the University of Illinois at Champaign. He has over 20 years of professional experience and holds multiple certifications, including: Certified Parks and Recreation Professional, Certified Pool Operator, Certified CPR/First Aid Trainer, and an Illinois Food Handler certification. While at the Champaign Park District, he directed the Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation program, and has managed an outdoor tennis complex, an indoor tennis center, a seven-diamond softball complex, an eleven-field soccer complex, an outdoor aquatic center, a dog park, and various recreation centers.
