Public invited to attend an EAB educational outreach program

Dustin Hinrichs of the Trees Forever organization will be presenting a program to educate the area on the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) and how to prepare for this potential tree devastation. The program will be held Monday December 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 55 W. Tompkins Street, Galesburg.
With assistance from the US Forest Service, Trees Forever is coordinating this educational outreach program to assist communities in eastern Iowa and western Illinois as they plan for the arrival of EAB.
Hinrichs is a Field Coordinator with Trees Forever, a non-profit organization founded in 1989 and headquartered in Marion, Iowa, that connects people to the environment through the planting and care of trees, prairie, and other natural areas. Their mission is “To plant and care for trees and the environment by empowering people, building community, and promoting stewardship.”
