Galesburg Transit City Bus

The City of Galesburg And Galesburg Transit have been partners since 1972.  The City pays Galesburg Transit a monthly payment based upon their operating deficit and the previous years' expenses.  The City receives Federal Section 5311 Operating Assistance and Illinois Downstate Operating Assistance.  Fares, exterior advertising revenue and a local match provided by the City of Galesburg are additional sources used to fund the transit system.

There are four fixed bus routes with one-hour headways; meaning it will take up to an hour to reach the location a person left from.  Service is provided Monday through Saturday 7:00am until 6:15pm.

Glaesburg Transit passengers can utilize Google Maps for trip planning. To access the trip planning feature through Google Maps, navigate to Google Maps (https://www.google.com/maps) to open the Google Maps app, enter the destination, and select the transit icon. This will populate the route and station choices for the trip.
