During a July 2016 storm, a 200 year old Burr Oak tree was toppled over at Lake Storey. The City will also make this wood available for sale on Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 am to noon at the Armory, located at 149 North Broad Street. Enter through the garage door on the south side of the building. There will be 4 - 5 foot diameter "cookies" available (once they are cut) for $100 each, and 1 - 2 foot diameter "cookies" available for $20 each. There will also be large slabs approximately 8 feet x 4 feet for $500, as well as smaller slabs approximately 8 feet x 2.5 feet for $350. There will be a few slabs with extra character available for $750 each. The remaining parts of the tree will be sold for $1/board foot.
